|Captain John Curley|
Captain John Curley began his career at the Covina Police Department in December 1992. Prior to joining the Covina Police Department, Captain Curley served as a Police Reserve Officer for 3 years with the Monterey Park Police Department. Captain Curley has worked a variety of assignments; including, DARE Officer, Narcotics and Robbery/Homicide Detective, Patrol and Detective Bureau Sergeant, and Patrol and Detective Bureau Lieutenant.
Captain Curley has received The Distinguished Service Medal, and was also The Police Officer of the Year in 2000.
Captain Curley holds a Bachelors Degree in Human Resource Management from Cal Poly Pomona. He also holds his Masters Degree in Leadership and Management from The University of La Verne. He completed The Leadership 21 Program from The University of Southern California and is a graduate of The Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute. Captain Curley also participated in Rotary International’s Group Study Exchange where he traveled throughout Japan learning about law enforcement in that country.
Captain Curley is responsible for Patrol Operations, Jail Operations, the Special Response Team and Crime Analysis.
