Jorge Marquez has been a resident of Covina for over 25 years. The son of first generation Mexican immigrants, he grew up in Covina, and was instilled with a deep commitment to his community. Jorge attended both Covina-Valley and Charter Oak School Districts, participating in local programs like Covina Little League and AYSO.
Jorge is a tireless community volunteer and has served as a City Commissioner, Covina-Valley Unified School District’s Personnel Commissioner, an AYSO coach, member of the Covina Lions Breakfast Club, and as an active member of Sacred Heart Parish. He believes in giving back to the city he grew up in, and is humbled to have this opportunity to serve you on the Covina City Council.
Jorge works as a Field Deputy for the California State Legislature, and is responsible for handling a wide variety of issues, including Public Safety, Veteran’s Affairs, and Housing. Jorge works everyday with cities, school districts, local agencies, community organizations, and residents to advance programs and projects that benefit our community here in Covina as well as the greater San Gabriel Valley.
He is a graduate of Cal Poly Pomona University and looks forward to continuing his education and professional development to better serve the residents of Covina.
