Baby Storytime (0-2 years)

Toddler Storytime (2-3 years)

Toddler storytime is perfect for children ages 2 - 3 years. This special storytime helps this age group further develop their verbal skills, their means of expression, and solidifies basic concepts -- letters, numbers, colors, shapes -- all in preparation for preschool. Pajama Storytime (2-5 years)

Wear your pajamas, and bring your blanket or a favorite stuffed animal and join us for some storytelling fun! Older children are welcome, but this storytime is designed specifically for toddlers and pre-K. Please call (626) 384-5293 to register.

FAMILY COOKIE HOUSE DECORATING PARTY and VISIT FROM SANTA!

cookie houseJust in time for the holidays! Make the perfect cookie house centerpiece for your holiday table! Join us for the 1st Annual Family Cookie House Decorating Party. Families will enjoy working together to make the best cookie house! Cookie houses will be judged, with trophies and prizes awarded to all families participating. The event will include pizza and drinks to enjoy while making your fabulous creations! The evening will conclude with a special visit from Santa Claus. All cookie house supplies will be provided. Families may bring additional supplies to add to their creation, if desired. Pre-registration is required.

DATE & TIME: Friday, December 19, 5-7:30 p.m.

FEE: $25 per family of four, each additional participant $5

REGISTRATION DATES:  November 17-December 8 or until filled.

CHILDREN'S COOKIE HOUSE DECORATING PARTY and VISIT FROM SANTA!

santaSanta and Mrs. Claus will join us once again for this annual event! Children will make wonderful cookie houses that include the use of royal icing and vibrantly colored candies. Then it’s off to see Santa and Mrs. Claus (parents…please bring your cameras). Preregistration is required. Limited to the first 100 children. Recommended for ages 5-12. Parent supervision is required at all times during the event. Last year’s event sold out in one day, so register early!

DATE & TIME: Saturday, December 20

Sessions: 10:30-11:30 a.m., 1:30-2:30 p.m., 3-4 p.m. & 4:30-5:30 p.m.

FEE: $3 per child

Drop-In Homework Help Center
The Library offers academic homework help for students in grades 1-8 on a drop-in basis. The program offers students the opportunity to complete homework assignments in a safe and welcoming environment. The Homework Help Center is open during the school year only.

Paws for Books PDF Print E-mail

The Library invites children who are learning to read to visit the children’s area and read to a loving, friendly dog. This unique program gives readers the opportunity to read to a nonjudgmental listener -- one who will accept the story exactly as it is read. All dogs have received certification from Therapy Dogs International, Delta Pet Partners, or Therapy Dogs Incorporated. Read for fifteen minutes and earn a Paws ticket. Collect three Paws tickets (equal to 45 minutes of reading) and get a free DVD rental! Children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver.
