HOLLYWOOD BOWL FIREWORKS SPECTACULAR

Celebrate Independence Day at the Bowl with patriotic music and thrilling fireworks! Bring a picnic or purchase dinner on your own before the show. Moderate to extensive walking and prolonged sitting and standing. Registration begins February 2, 2015.

With its iconic red-shingled roof adding a dash of majestic color to the coastline, The Del stands as the definitive example of what a luxury resort should be. Whether your interest is history, architecture or luxury, you’ll get it all with a docent led tour unfolding the past of the beloved Hotel Del Coronado. Afterwards you’ll have time for lunch and shopping at the Ferry Landing Marketplace, where you'll discover a charming collection of shops, art galleries, fine restaurants and fun eateries. JULIAN APPLE DAYS FESTIVAL

Let us take you back to simpler times as we celebrate the fall harvest in Julian. The Apple Days Festival will be held at Menghini Winery, featuring apple displays, music and dancing, an antique tractor display, fun activities, gold panning demonstrations, a beer and wine garden, food and merchandise vendors, contests, and, of course, apple pie. There will also be a variety of other events throughout the town for you to enjoy on your own. Moderate to extensive walking and prolonged sitting.

FARM SANCTUARY TOUR AND SHOPPING AT “THE PATIOS”

When you visit the Farm Sanctuary’s Animal Acres, you’ll know right away that it is a special place. This 26-acre shelter located on a beautiful hacienda ranch in Acton. The sanctuary is home to rescued cows, pigs, turkeys, and other farm animals and each has their own heartwarming tale. Animals who began their lives abused and neglected now spend their days digging in the dirt, basking in the sun, and napping in the straw. To register or for more information, please call or come by the Parks & Recreation Department, 1250 N. Hollenbeck Avenue, Covina, (626) 384-5340. Office hours are Monday-Thursday and alternate Fridays, 10 am-5:45 pm. Deluxe motor coaches and professional drivers are used on all trips. Preregistration is required for all trips.

  1. Registration is accepted by phone (with Visa/Mastercard only), by mail and in person on an equal basis. Priority is not given to any one method of registration.
  2. Payment must be made at the time of registration. Spaces will not be held without payment.Cash, checks (made payable to “City of Covina”), and credit cards (Visa/Mastercard) are accepted.
  3. If all seats are sold, a waiting list will be established.
  4. Trips are subject to change without notice.
  5. Trips may be cancelled due to low registration.
  6. Participants must be at least 6 years of age, and if under age 18, must be accompanied by an adult.
  7. All trips leave from and return to 1250 N. Hollenbeck Avenue.
  8. Trips go rain or shine.
  9. No smoking allowed on the bus.
  10. Special services (wheelchair accessibilty) must be requested 30 days before trip.
  11. A $25 service fee will be charged for all returned checks, (NSF, closed account, or stopped payment).
