During our last day at the Summer Concert Series, the Environmental Services Division held a "Stump the Staff" contest in which residents asked staff questions relating to Environmental issues. Here are the winners along with their questions and our answers:

Q: What is the best way to deal with a hazmat chemical spills at home?
A: Buy absorbent material from Home Depot or Lowes to clean up the spill. Put the contaminated materials in a container for disposal at an L.A. County Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event.

Q: Where can I recycle old oil and electronics?
A: Recycle old oil and electronics at an L.A. County Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event. Electronics can also be recycled at the Covina Chamber of Commerce E-Waste Event held quarterly at Covina Home Depot. Uncontaminated used motor oil can be recycled at 4 Covina collection centers – see “Recycling” section for a list of collection centers
