|Covina Transitional Housing Program|
The Covina Housing Authority transitional house provides a location where homeless mothers with children are housed for up to twelve months, rent-free. The families are required to save a portion of their income, and to work closely with the case manager to reach their goals.
Homeless families are screened by program case managers. Once in the program, the household’s needs are assessed and an individual service plan is developed. Appropriate services are then secured. Services include: job training, education, counseling, employment assistance, day care and life skills enhancement. The family works toward the goals of increasing the household’s income and obtaining permanent housing.
After exiting the program, the case manager continues to follow the family for up to 6 months.
