Our pilot program provides free public transit in Covina. Fric and Frac aims to reduce single rider vehicle trips by utilizing all electric ride-share vehicles, improve walkable distance by connecting neighborhoods in downtown Covina, and helps smoothen the connection between the City’s downtown parking structures and lots, Covina Metrolink Train Station, local bus lines, and more. Fric and Frac is an additional option for visitors & residents to travel within the Covina Downtown that is environmentally conscious, friendly to all abilities, and provides a new, exciting way to visit, discover, and stick around downtown. The Downtown is experiencing a boom in new business and housing developments and the area is prime with pedestrian activity. The downtown also features a regional train station, the Covina Metrolink. The current service area covers Covina’s historic downtown district and neighboring mixed-use, and transit-oriented communities. It is the perfect place to test out a Micro Transit Pilot Program that could eventually expand coverage to other areas of Covina.
